2005-2006 VB Glencoe Charter School Dress Code Glencoe Charter School will be implementing the mandatory school uniform policy for the 2005-2006 school year. The information below is a guide to utilize when purchasing clothing for your child/children. Pants Regulation navy or dark khaki zip up uniform pants. The following will not be allowed: jean, carpenter, or cargo style, button up the front, zippers or pockets on the side, or sweat pants. Elastic waist pants may be worn only for K & 1. Capri pants will be allowed only if made out of the uniform material not blue jean material. Shorts Regulation navy or dark khaki zip up uniform shorts. The length must be no more than 2 inches above the knee. Skirts/ Skorts Regulation navy or dark khaki skirts/skorts. The length must be no more than 2 inches above the knee. Shirts Navy or Hunter green polo style shirts. Shirts SHALL be tucked in at all times. Navy, hunter green, or khaki turtleneck shirts may be worn under the uniform shirt. If an under shirt is worn it must not be visible. Socks Standard full-length crew- solid white, navy, khaki, brown, or black only. Socks SHALL be visible and cover the ankle. Socks SHALL be worn at all times. Belts Solid black or brown. K & 1 st may wear magnetic cloth belts in navy, tan, or green. Belts must fit appropriately. Shoes Tennis shoes are preferred in any combination of these colors- white, brown, dark blue, black, or gray. No novelty shoes (blinking lights), sandals or boots. The toes and heels of shoes must be closed and they should have low heels. Jackets Heavy jackets used mainly outdoors may be any color. Sweatshirts/ Sweaters Sweatshirts, sweaters, and pullover sweater must be navy, khaki, or hunter green. Jewelry Appropriate wristwatches, chains (inside shirt), and rings may be worn. Earrings may be worn by girls and must be a single, non-dangling earring on the LOWER lobe of the each earlobe. Make-up In grades K-4, NO makeup is allowed. In grades 5-8, only light makeup is allowed. In all grades, girls may wear fingernail polish that is neutral, clear, shades of pink, or red. Hats/Caps/ Sunglasses Hats, caps, and sunglasses may not be worn inside the building. Friday/ Field Trips Blue jeans or shorts ( no more than 2 inches above the knee) will be allowed if worn with the VB Glencoe Charter School T-Shirt. The regular uniform should be worn if the above attire is not available . |
